In 1920s Switzerland, a grieving Scottish tutor accepts a job at an isolated lakeside estate and becomes entangled with its enigmatic matriarch, whose collapsing marriage and obsessive love for her sons slowly transforms the household into the stage for a devastating tragic reckoning. Reimagining “The Tragedy of Medea” against the glittering backdrop of the Swiss Riviera, DEXAMENE is a gothic psychological drama about erasure, motherhood, and the terrible cost of underestimating a woman pushed beyond endurance.
